Oinousses Islands<\/span><\/p>\n

The small island of OINOUSSA, between Chios and the Turkish coast, is the largest island and the only one inhabited of the group known as the Oinousses.
\nIt has an area of 14 square kilometers and there are daily boat services to Chios, 9 nautical miles away.<\/span><\/p>\n

The other uninhabited islets of the group are: Panagia, Vatos, Pontikonisi, Avloni, Archontonisso, and Prasonisia. Inoussa is the ideal place for quiet and peaceful holidays.<\/span><\/p>\n

The small picturesque town, also called Oinoussa, is on the south coast of the island. It has fine stone houses, several interesting churches and a Nautical Museum with relics of the island\u2019s naval tradition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oinousses Islands<\/span><\/h3>\n

In front of the harbour stands the bronze statue of the mermaid, that the locals call \u201cMother of Oinoussa\u201d.<\/span>
\nIn the center of the town is the church of Agios Nikolaos, the patron saint of the island.<\/span>
\nAt 10 minute distance from the village you will see the notable Monastery of the Annuciation.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Oinoussa there are small hotels, rooms to let, taverns, cafes and many pleasant beaches.<\/span>
\nThe virgin beaches of the island are sandy or pebbled and have crystal clear waters.
\nThe most famous are: Zepaga, Kastro, Farkero, Bilali and Hatziali.<\/span><\/p>\n

LOCAL PRODUCTS<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In Oinousses is produced the famous local wine.
\nIn the small taverns of the island you can taste delicious local recipes as the famous boureklikia and of course fresh fish and all kinds of seafood.<\/span><\/p>\n
