Keros Island

Keros Island

Keros Island

Keros is a small and rocky island at the south-east of Koufonisia in the Small Cyclades group with an area of 15 square kilometers.
It is now uninhabited but it was inhabited in the Early Cycladic period and evolved an important civilization, as is clear from the fine finds from excavations here:
Cycladic figurines – including the famous Keros Flautist and Harpist (National Archaeological Museum in Athens) – pottery, vessels, tools, etc.

In the ancient times it was called Keria.
