Antiparos is a small island at the heart of Cyclades group located south-west of Paros.
It has superb sandy beaches with crystal clear waters and picturesque settlements.

Antiparos is the ideal place for quiet and peaceful holidays.

The main settlement, ANTIPAROS (or Kastro) with the characteristic Cycladic architecture, is built at the northern end of the island and is the port of arrival for visitors from Pounta or Parikia on Paros.

The stone paved broad streets, the white washed alleys, the flowered houses and the commodious square with the eucalyptus, compose a beautiful icon.

The remains are preserved of a 15th Venetian castle, a few medieval houses and other traces of the Venetian occupation.

South-west of Chora is an interesting cave with stalactites and stalagmites and with a chapel of Agios Ioannis Spiliotis at its mouth.

It is worth visiting the small settlements of Agios Georgios, Apantima, Glyfa and Soros to the south of the capital.

The island is famous for its fine sandy beaches with crystal waters.
The most popular are Psaralyki, Agios Georgios and Soros.
Don’t miss touring around the island with small boats.

NEARBY ISLANDS

West of Antiparos are three small uninhabited islands of great archaeological interest and with fine beaches: Despotiko, Tsimintiri and Stroggylo.
On Despotiko are discovered the remains of an old Apollo temple.

TRADITION – EVENTS

On the island there are a lot of traditional festivals during all the year.
On 7th May is the festival of Saint John Spiliotis at the entrance of the cave with local dancing groups.

On the 23rd and 24th of June the feast Saint John is celebrated.
On this day, dancing as well as the tradition of Klidonas, take place in the castle.

On the 16th July is organized the festival of Agia Marina for 3 days on the port of the island, with local dances and songs.

On 7th September is organized the festival in the church of Panagia Faneromeni, in the other side of the island.
